265 My great great grandfather Emmanuel Snook lived all his life in a farmhouse at Higher Whatcombe, north of Winterborne Whitechurch. He died there on 1 April 1903. He was a farm worker and a Methodist lay preacher, and he is buried at Winterborne Whitechurch, and there is a memorial plaque on the west wall of the church. Emmanuel Snook is mentioned in my forthcoming book about my grandmother, Mabel Bessie Llewellyn, titled It Might Have Been Raining, published by Elijah Editions
